About This Tour
This is the definitive private tour of the Bastogne siege and Battle of the Bulge for American travelers and Band of Brothers enthusiasts. From December 16–27, 1944, the 101st Airborne Division held the strategic town of Bastogne against the German winter offensive—one of the most dramatic stands in American military history.
You will walk the actual battlefields where Easy Company dug in, explore the foxholes still visible in Jack Woods, and visit the key sites of this legendary siege. Bastogne Barracks
101st Airborne & 10th Armoured Museum Explore the former base where American divisions were stationed during the siege. Optional museum entrance (not included in tour price).
Bastogne Square
General McAuliffe Monument & Sherman Tank Stand at the heart of the siege. Learn about the famous "NUTS" reply to German surrender demands and the brave defenders who held the town.
Lunch
Traditional Belgian Restaurant Historic restaurant where 101st Airborne veterans reunited after the war. Excellent local cuisine or bring your own snacks if preferred.
Jack Woods
Easy Company Defensive Positions Two to three stops around Jack Woods where Easy Company held against German counterattacks. See preserved foxholes and understand the tactical positions. This is Band of Brothers territory.
Foy
German Counterattack Town Walk through Foy, where the Germans launched their counterattacks on Easy Company. Heavy street fighting occurred here during the siege.
Bizory Chapel
Provisional Medical Aid Station Historic chapel that served as an emergency medical facility during the battle. Reflects the human cost of the siege.
Mardasson Memorial
American Soldiers Memorial Solemn monument honoring the memory of American soldiers who lost their lives or were wounded in the Battle of the Bulge.
Bastogne WW2 Museum
Comprehensive Battle of the Bulge Exhibits One of the best WW2 museums in Europe, focusing specifically on the Bastogne siege and the broader Battle of the Bulge campaign. Optional entrance.
Ardennes Countryside

Practical Information
What to Wear
Good walking shoes and a wind/waterproof jacket are essential in the Ardennes, especially in winter. Bring extra layers — the van is spacious and can accommodate an extra bag with clothing. The terrain is often muddy and exposed to the elements.
Weather
We operate in all weather conditions — rain, wind, and fog. If the forecast is severe, we can suggest an alternative date where possible. Do not leave the Bastogne tour as your last day in France — keep flexibility to reschedule if needed.
Drive Time
Approximately 3 hours each way from Paris. Your guide stops for coffee & croissants on the way out, and a refreshment break on the way back. The van is comfortable and air-conditioned.
