## About this tour

Chablis is far more than a table wine. In the northernmost part of Burgundy, its cool climate and Kimmeridgian limestone give chardonnay crisp acidity and a mineral, almost saline finish that is unlike any other.

This tour takes you to small family producers, the La Chablisienne cooperative, the red wines of Irancy and the cave at Bailly where Burgundy’s sparkling crémant is made underground.

## This tour in winter

20% off for tours from 1 November 2026 to 28 February 2027: **€800** instead of €1,000 per group of 1–7.

- In winter the vines are pruned and the producers have more time for visitors than at harvest.
- Some family growers close for a few days around Christmas and New Year, so we confirm each tasting for your date.
- The underground cellars stay cool all year. Bring a warm layer for the vineyard stops, which are cold and windy.

## Chablis in short

Chablis lies about 185 km south-east of Paris, in the northernmost part of Burgundy. Its wines are 100% chardonnay and are classified in four levels, Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru and Chablis Grand Cru, according to the position of the vineyards.

The region also has a rich Cistercian heritage, with the abbey of Pontigny nearby, medieval villages and traditional wash houses.

## Questions about this tour

**Is Chablis part of Burgundy?**

Yes. Chablis is the northernmost wine area of Burgundy, closer to Champagne than to Beaune.

**Can we combine Chablis with Burgundy?**

In one day it is too much driving. Ask about a custom two-day trip with a night in Chablis or Beaune.

**What is your cancellation policy?**

The booking fee is non-refundable. For one-day tours cancelled more than one month ahead, it can be used for a future tour; for multi-day tours, more than three months ahead. If we cancel for safety reasons, such as severe weather, we refund it in full. [Read the full terms](https://www.privatetrip.fr/terms/).
